After a successful career in the private club industry developing tennis programs, Ben launched Bull Shark Sports in 2021 with a mission to help kids grow as athletes through baseball, softball, and tennis. He also runs a series of multi-sport summer camps aimed to foster a love for physical activity.
 
Ben is a certified coach with USA Baseball and holds advanced certifications from Driveline, including Hitting Coach and Youth Baseball Development Coach credentials. He is the current
Head Coach of one of Lakeside’s middle school teams and has worked with several DHYS Devils teams in recent years.
 

While Ben played baseball through high school, tennis became his primary focus during his later teenage years. He was a member of the 1998 Alabama Junior Olympic Team and went on to play
two years at Central Alabama Community College, followed by two years at the University of North Alabama.

Coaching Philosophy:

Coach Ben believes in creating a positive learning environment through activities that directly build the skills needed for the athlete’s sport. His approach combines progressive coaching methods with a strong emphasis on fundamentals. Every player receives personal attention, and practices are designed to keep athletes engaged, active, and improving.
